PARASOMNIA, DON’T LOOK UP and more get DVD dates

By Michael Gingold
Fango got the scoop from DVD distributor E1 Entertainment about its slate of horror releases coming in 2010. The most notable titles are PARASOMNIA, the latest feature from HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL and MASTERS OF HORROR: FAIR HAIRED CHILD’s William Malone, and DON’T LOOK UP, helmed by Chinese filmmaker Fruit Chan and starring Eli Roth.

PARASOMNIA, which hits disc July 13, stars Cherilyn Wilson as a young woman afflicted with the titular syndrome—she sleeps almost constantly, waking only for brief moments—and Patrick Kilpatrick as a serial killer with hypnotic powers who invades her dreams. DON’T LOOK UP, a remake of the 1996 Hong Kong chiller by the RINGU team of director Hideo Nakata and scripter Hiroshi Takahashi, is about a film crew, led by a director with psychic abilities, plagued by evil spirits when they go to shoot a movie in an abandoned film studio; Henry Thomas, Kevin Corrigan, Daniela Sea, Lothaire Bluteau and Zelda Williams co-star. It streets September 21; there’s no word yet if there’ll be any theatrical play before that.

Also on the E1 schedule are David DeCoteau’s EDGAR ALLAN POE’S HOUSE OF USHER on May 4 and BROTHERHOOD VI: INITIATION June 15; Barak Epstein and Blair Rowan’s vampire comedy BLOOD ON THE HIGHWAY, with appearances by Tom Towles and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER’s Nicholas Brendon, arriving June 29; SQUEAL, Tony Swansea’s backwoods survival shocker with a porcine twist, pigging out on August 10; and Michael Emanuel’s creature feature MANEATER, starring Dean Cain, out October 26. Some of these dates may be tentative; we’ll bring you further details on all these titles as it comes in.

  1. Thanks for this blog, I miss the site and look forward to the new one!

One quick question... I had read about a year ago on the old site that The Monster Times issues would be scanned and posted, as well as new issues created. Has that plan proceeded or has it died?
