28 WEEKS LATER director to helm INTRUDERS

Fango got in a news tidbit about INTRUDERS, an upcoming film by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the Spanish director who first won notice with the 2001 thriller INTACTO and then helmed 2007’s superior sequel 28 WEEKS LATER.

Our source tells us that INTRUDERS is a genre piece whose story revolves around an 11-year-old girl, and will be written and directed by Fresnadillo. Production is scheduled to begin in mid-May. No other details are forthcoming, but we’ll keep you posted. Fresnadillo is also attached to the film version of the hit video game BIOSHOCK for Universal, and a remake of X: THE MAN WITH X-RAY EYES for MGM.
