First look at Ben from NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: ORIGINS

By Michael Gingold
Dread Central scored the first look at the likeness of Ben from NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: ORIGINS, the upcoming 3-D animated feature based on the classic George A. Romero films. Check out the image after the jump.

Directed by Zebediah de Soto, who also scripted, the zombie opus features the voice talents of Tony Todd as Ben and Bill Moseley as Johnny (both reprising their roles from the 1990 NOTLD remake), Danielle Harris as Barbara, Joe Pilato (Rhodes in Romero’s DAY OF THE DEAD) as Harry Cooper, Alona Tal as Helen Cooper and Erin Braswell as Judy. The freedom of animation is allowing de Soto to make this “the first zombie movie played on a epic scale,” he tells Dread. “This is the EMPIRE OF THE SUN of zombie films… I lived through the LA riots and saw the city on fire; I remember seeing people running, people getting pulled out of cars. And with 9/11, these images have been ingrained on people of my generation. I just thought that is the way it would really be, a lot of chaos.” Look for more on NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: ORIGINS in the near future.
